How I design learning
Six questions I ask before I build anything.
The ACCESS Framework™ is my human-centered design philosophy. ADDIE is still the process I use to build. ACCESS is how I decide what the learning should be, and who it should serve.
Step 1 of 6
Anchor in Human Needs
Who am I designing for?
Understand the learners, their challenges, their motivations, and what they need to succeed. Before content, before tools, I start with the people.
What I make: empathy maps and learner profiles
In the VA projectMapped what busy providers say, think, see, and feel about addiction care.
In the AI enablement projectBuilt an AI trust ladder, from curious to teaching, so every level got what it needed.
ACCESS + ADDIE
A philosophy and a process, working together.
ADDIE tells me what phase a project is in. ACCESS tells me what to care about in that phase. Here's where each principle does its heaviest lifting.
